Lune Croissanterie

Lune Croissanterie Branding

Lune Croissanterie is a Melbourne bakery dedicated to the craft of Viennoiserie. After gaining a large cult following and amassing long cues early in the morning the business quickly outgrew its small shop and recently moved into a new warehouse space in the suburb of Fitzroy. To coincide with this move, the bakery worked with Australian graphic design studio A Friend Of Mine to develop a new brand identity. This takes the name, space theme and rocket of the previous identity, refines it and adds a few extra playful details that link packaging, signage, interior design and website.

The new identity gives a modern update from the old style which used to be a more twee hand drawn style. It’s a playful logo which beautifully combines a rocket and a croissant in a way that feels natural and unforced. The simple shapes work perfectly together to create an icon that looks great whether it’s an icon on the web or the cut-out shop signage.

The space theme has been carried on through the interior design, which features the same light speed stars  you see both on the box and Lune Croissanterie’s home page. I think my favourite space reference in this branding has to be the beautiful black ink used on the box, which features purple and blue glitter running through it. It’s a beautifully subtle nod to the space theme which adds another dimension to the already unique packaging.
